24th Annual Cashiers Designer Showhouse

From 10 am to 4 pm (closed on Mondays), explore six glamping tents decorated by renowned designers on the beautiful Cashiers Historical Society grounds. Browse the event schedule online for special events, including workshops, panel discussions, tours of the CHS historical buildings, cocktails, yoga and a bluegrass boogie! Enjoy work by artist resident Shannon Whitworth and visit “Roots of Wisdom,” an exhibition on the environmental, cultural and material importance of the restoration of river cane. Visit the Naturalists’ Trail to learn more about the historical and modern themes of biodiversity and conservation on the plateau, the Vendor Village for a curated shopping experience, and the Fieldsmen’s Retreat for outdoor products! Cashiers Quilters

Wednesdays in August and September

The Cashiers Quilters are a group of full-time and seasonal residents with all levels of quilting expertise, from novice to advanced, who love to get together once a week, share their talents, learn from each other, and socialize. The group gathers every Wednesday at 12:30 at St. Jude and welcomes visitors and new members. Oyster Fest at The Farm

For this annual Old Edwards tradition, guests will gather in The Orchard with lawn games and live music from 4 to 7:30 pm. Passed hors d'oeuvres, a lavish raw bar and creative cocktails from James Beard Foundation award-winner Miles Macquerrie (Kimball House and Watchman's) will set the stage for deliciousness to follow. Chef Brian Wolfe of Kimball House in Atlanta and Chef Sara Prezioso of The Darling in Charleston will serve specialties from their restaurants alongside traditional roasted oysters. Bryan Rackley, Kimball House's oyster expert, will present an array of Southern raw oysters from farmer friends on the Atlantic and Gulf coasts. 10th Annual 3 River Fly Fishing Festival

September 23 through 25

Three River Fly Fishing Festival is looking forward to breaking the fundraising record of $20,000 for the Town of Highlands Scholarship Fund set in 2019. Limited to 50 two-person teams, tickets are $500 with an early bird rate of $450 for teams registered before August 10. Expect weekend fun for the whole family, including lunch both days, an opening night reception, a closing night banquet with food, prizes and a fishing goody bag.
